Setup guide
Connect your LINE Official Account in about 10 minutes. Expand each section as you go.
Before you start
This connects your company's LINE Official Account to your CRM: customer LINE messages appear in your CRM inbox, and staff reply to LINE directly from the CRM.
- You will collect two secret values from the LINE Developers Console — think of them as two passwords.
- Channel Secret — found in the “Basic settings” tab.
- Channel Access Token (long-term) — found at the very bottom of the “Messaging API” tab.
- Use a computer (the LINE console is hard to use on a phone) and have your regular LINE login ready.
⚠️ Handle both values like passwords — only paste them into the LINE settings page of your CRM. If a token ever leaks, you can invalidate it and get a new one (see Troubleshooting).
1. Log in to the LINE Developers Console
- Open https://developers.line.biz/console/ and click Log in with LINE account.
- No LINE account yet? Install the LINE app on your phone, register an account (a phone number is required), then come back here.
- First time here? LINE asks you to register as a developer — enter your name and email address, and agree to the terms. This is a one-time step.
- You land on the Console home. Your company name appears in the left sidebar under Providers.
2. Create a Messaging API channel (skip if you already have one)
If your channel list already shows a channel with a green “Messaging API” badge, skip to the next section.
- Click your provider name (your company) in the sidebar.
- Click Create a Messaging API channel.
- Fill in the form — channel name (your LINE account name), a short description, a business category, and an email address — and confirm. LINE creates the channel and the matching LINE Official Account that customers will add as a friend.
3. Copy the Channel Secret
- In the sidebar, click your provider, then your channel name.
- Open the first tab, Basic settings.
- Scroll all the way down — the secret sits near the bottom, just above Your user ID.
- Click the copy icon 📄 next to Channel secret.
- Paste it into the Channel Secret field on the LINE Integration settings page (in your business account's left sidebar) — click Edit first if the fields aren't shown yet.
4. Copy the Channel Access Token
- Open the second tab, Messaging API.
- Scroll to the very bottom — past the QR code and the webhook switches — until you reach Channel access token (long-term).
- See an Issue button? Click it once and a long token string appears. See Reissue instead? A token already exists — just copy the string.
- Click the copy icon 📄.
- Paste it into the Channel Access Token field on the same settings page.
⚠️ Reissuing instantly invalidates the old token — the connection stops working until the new one is saved on the settings page. Only reissue when needed.
5. Save
- Once both fields are filled, click Save.
- Green confirmations appear: Saved, plus “The Webhook URL was registered automatically” — the connection address is set for you; you never type the Webhook URL by hand.
- Only changing one value? Leave the other field blank — blank means “keep the current value”.
- A mistyped token is rejected immediately with an error, so you can simply retry.
- The badges at the top of the settings page should now show App connected and LINE configured. If the Webhook line mentions a different URL, click Edit → Save once more.
6. Turn on the two LINE switches
- Back in the Developers Console, Messaging API tab (the same place as section 4), scroll to Webhook settings.
- Turn ON (green): Use webhooks — the most important one; without it, no messages arrive.
- Turn ON: Webhook redelivery — retries failed deliveries.
- Optional check: click Verify under the Webhook URL — “Success” confirms the connection is live.
7. Test the connection
- On your phone, scan the QR code at the top of the Messaging API tab with the LINE app and add your Official Account as a friend.
- Send it any message, e.g. “Hello”.
- The message should appear in your CRM inbox within a few seconds.
- Reply from the CRM — the reply arrives on your phone's LINE.
Documentation — how contacts are created
Wondering what the app adds to your business account? It creates contacts for LINE users (with a generated +1000… phone number for conversation threading) and workflow components. The full reference explains each one.

“The LINE token is invalid” when saving — The token was copied incompletely or has expired. In section 4, click Reissue, copy the new token, and save it above.
Webhook status says “Use webhooks: OFF” — Turn on Use webhooks (section 6).
Messages reach LINE but never appear in the CRM — Check section 6 first (the #1 cause). Then make sure the settings page doesn't warn about a different URL — re-save if it does.
Replies from the CRM never reach LINE — The token was likely reissued or invalidated — reissue and save again.
Customers get automatic answers staff never sent — Those are LINE's built-in automatic replies — they are sent by LINE and never appear in the CRM. Edit or disable them in the LINE Official Account Manager (see the notice on the LINE settings page).
Messages I send from the LINE app don't appear in the CRM — This is a LINE platform limitation: anything LINE itself sends (chat from the LINE Official Account Manager app, broadcasts, automated and greeting messages) is never shown in the CRM — LINE provides no data about it. Reply from the CRM instead (inbox or mobile app).
Still stuck — Contact your account manager with a screenshot of the settings page.
